I ran into a friend the other day at the grocery store while out shopping for baby medicine and he said something like, “It’s common knowledge that a man can cut off his finger while on the job, duct tape it back on, and keep working without a hiccup. But if that same man gets a common cold, he will be whining from bed with the curtains closed.”
Not a truer statement has ever been said.

When we were in Mexico during the 2020 COVID Lockdown (lest never forget), Savanna got COVID and basically spread it to the entire population of Sayulita. It didn’t faze her for a second.

When I got COVID a few days later, I was lying in bed wearing sunglasses while groaning, grunting, tossing, and turning. I was like Harry Potter having a bad dream. (Remember that scene?)

Our babies are sick again, and it’s never fun. First it was Lyra, and then Sid. Congestion, runny nose, stuffy, cough, tiredness, puffy eyes, discomfort, probably physical pain. They are miserable. It is miserable. The past two nights have been spent holding babies on our chests as they take cat naps, trying to allow the older kids to sleep while providing comfort to the babies. We’re all tired, and such is life.
We are anticipating the older kids will come down with it, too, just hopefully not at the same time.
Lyra has been a boss when dealing with the sickness. She still tries to kiss, bite, play, and cry. She is easy to comfort, to feed, and to care for. Sid on the other hand, well, he’s a boy, all he wants to do is cry and thrash. It has been confirmed by this simple, uneducated, unscientific case that boys and girls are not the same and that girls can deal with sickness a whole lot better than boys.

Case dismissed.
Goodnight. I am tired.
