Thank you everybody for the pre-order support! After less than four days, the $3,500 goal was reached! My heart is warmed and I feel such a community presence, thanks to all of you.
Every dollar earned will be used to pay my editor and cover designer. With my last book, Warflower, it took 15 months of online sales before I cleared the debt from my editor/cover designer and started making a profit. Over 2,000 books sold online at around $1.40 in profit per book. With Just Like a Soldier, I will begin earning profits the same day as publication!
I want to remind everybody, that any funds that exceed the $3,500 goal of the Kickstarter Campaign will be used to travel around Alaska to organize writing events while researching my next book. Excess funds will also be used to record audiobook versions of Warflower and Just Like a Soldier.
My next book is in first draft form with roughly 150 pages handwritten. It is a work of fiction that is set in Alaska during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. The book tells the stories of 8 families in 8 different areas of Alaska, and I need to visit these places to write the book more accurately.
