Kickstarter Campaign

So what the heck is a Kickstarter Campaign? I did not know until two months ago, so I will do my best to explain.

Kickstarter is a form of “Crowdfunding,” which is a way for creators, an author in this instance, to build hype and receive proceeds DIRECTLY FROM CUSTOMERS BEFORE THE PROJECT IS FINISHED. This increases the proceeds for the creator, and lessens the cut that retailers and distributors take from authors.

In other words- friends, family, fans, and generous folks pay money in advance to support a product that they later receive.

A tricky thing about Kickstarter is that if the campaign has a goal of say, $3,500, and they only receive $3,499- they receive $0. It’s all or nothing!

So to all of my friends, family, and readers out there- be ready for a couple months of promotions. I promise, they will dwindle down after the campaign is over. And I will do my best to be respectful of your inbox.

But please, if you read my first book and you believe in the story, share the link with your friends and family as a way to spread the news of the new book.
