We are a family of four who live off-grid on 20 acres of the Kenai Peninsula in Happy Valley, Alaska. We utilize permaculture techniques to grow food and live a healthy and happy life. We value healthy food, strong community, spirituality, hard work, time together, time outside, creativity, travel, and sober living.








Robert: 39 years old. Cancer. Adaptable and hardy. Loves God, prayer, kindness, hard work, growing food, writing, reading, playing music, animals, kids, organization, family, fatherhood, international travel, and some people. Raised in Alaska, joined the Army in 2003 at the age of seventeen as an airborne infantryman. Parachuted into Iraq in 2003 as part of the invading force. Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Creative Writing from The Evergreen State College.
Savanna: 36 years old. Capricorn. Tough as nails, sweet as strawberries. Loves God, Yoga, Samadhi, quiet, preparing food, riding a bicycle, beading, crafting, being outdoors, sunshine, motherhood, flowers, hard work, timeliness, cleanliness, Alaska, family. Raised in Missouri, first and only daughter of five girls to move away to carve her own path. Spent a year at a retreat center in Ecuador where she learned far more than what is taught at universities. Certified Yoga Teacher, Farm Manager, all-around badass.
Primrose: 3 years old. Cancer. Hilarious yet serious. Loves her Dad, Mom, Uncle, Bampa, Nana, Grandpa, Grandmas, Aunties, and boys. She LOVES boys. She loves chicken and duckling chores, collecting eggs, doing everything with her parents, meeting new people, dancing, watching Winnie the Pooh, jumping on her trampoline, wrestling with her Dad, playing make-believe with her Mom, playing too-rough with her sister, reading books, throwing rocks into creeks, playgrounds, building fires, playing on the beach, eating fresh peas and berries and yogurt, and basically everything that comes with her awesome life.
Marlena: 1 year old. Leo. Trusting and observant. Loves her Mother… Does she know anything else? She loves breastfeeding, playing the ukulele, listening to live music, splashing water, crawling toward chickens, swinging, trying to walk, eating cheese, throwing rocks, laughing at her big sister, four-wheeler rides, bike rides, oatmeal, getting wet, squirming, laughing, and more laughing.
